About Alison Parfitt
Alison has 20 years of professional and personal experience with PTSD and trauma-informed interventions.
Alison is a dynamic leader in the field of mental wellness, with twenty years of social work experience – specifically as it relates to trauma, mental health and developmental support services. A fierce advocate, she has assisted many people to successfully determine and navigate the supports available to them and their families.
Alison takes an honest and refreshing approach to her work and hopes to inspire others with her authentic and holistic approach to mental health. Known for her out-of-the box thinking when facing real issues, whether at a boardroom table, speaking in front of a hundred people, or seated cross legged on the floor, playing with children, Alison can get to the root of a problem and find creative ways to tackle it.
In her career, Alison has worked with many adults and children affected by prenatal alcohol exposure; with both suspected and confirmed Fetal Alcohol Disorder (FASD), autism, ADHD/ADD, and complex mental health needs.
Alison is a mom of three uniquely awesome girls, one of whom has FASD, and this has ignited an even deeper passion for supporting children with neurodevelopment challenges. Alison is a certified essential oils specialist, and uses this as another wellness tool.
